I never decorate till after Thanksgiving I can see that the older I get the slower I get. Next year if all is good, I will start the first of November Have lights outside ready and tree or trees in their place in the rooms.
This was a few days ago on the porch getting together my bows and wreaths for windows.
Few lights on the bushes.
A Santa I purchased from Walmart for $25.00 and the only woodland left. I grabbed it.
Hopefully more pictures of decorations inside and of the tree.
Dearest Betsy,
ReplyDeleteYou sure worked hard at getting the wreaths up.
Such a beautiful brick house...
Happy Advent to you and yours.
Hugs,
Mariette
Thank you. It was 10 bows I made but they were easy enough. Happy Advent to you and Pieter. Hugs, Betsy

DeleteThose wreaths are just lovely! And your Santa is adorable. My rule was never to start decorating until December 1. When our kids were small, we would shop for our live tree on Christmas Eve and keep it up until January 6. I have found the same thing as you did. I am getting much slower. This year I did start on November 1 (with my new Hallmark Christmas Inn Bedroom). And today is December 7 and I still don't have the tree up. . .
ReplyDeleteUsed to be the same here, a real tree would go up just a few days before Christmas. Mom always would go out to chop down one in our forest area on Christmas Eve early in the morning or late evening the night before. Not until after Epiphany she would not take the tree down, I do the same. I love your Hallmark Christmas Inn bedroom! You should have a sign made saying that and hang on the bedroom door.
DeleteBetsy, I like to begin decorating after Thanksgiving as well. Your home looks lovely with your wreaths and pretty bows. Santa is darling and I'm sure you and your grands enjoy him in your home. I've been doing a little decorating each day and am slower than usual. My husband had Mohs surgery yesterday and has to be resting, so it's me and my grandson doing the work this year. Hopefully we'll decorate the tree tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYou've worked hard on your Christmas decorations. They are so beautiful and the work paid off with such beauty.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Merry Christmas and joyful New Year!
Betsy,
ReplyDeleteLove the bows on the wreaths!! Next year, I will be replacing the big ones that i have on the windows now for over 11 years...Going for smaller ones and then will do boughs of greenery on the window ledges....I start early but with 22 trees, i need to!!
