Den

Hi and cold morning this is.   Finishing up some things and then will bake some cookies today after shopping.

Here are a few finished pictures of my decorations.

Den and mostly blue

My mama gave me this ornament some years ago of Princess Diana

A Christmas card my brother and his wife sent me about ten years ago.  I have the sentiment and their signature on back of hanging.  It's glued on a block of Styrofoam and then some added sparkle
Den mantle and did totally different this year with deer and an owl the children like.

Made this ornament from two paper plates and then decoupaged picture with added beads, sparkle, etc..

Now to finish up a few other things and take pictures.

  1. Your tree is just lovely! It is so elegant and beautiful! I love the stories of your ornaments. What pretty decorations on your mantel, too.

  2. It's lovely to see your pretty decorations, Betsy. The blue and white are so pretty at Christmas. I really like the ornament made from the paper plates and beads. Pearls add such a lovely touch. The Princess Diana ornament is quite unique and special. You have been quite busy dressing your home for the holidays. Everything looks wonderful. Now sit back and enjoy!

  3. Dearest Betsy,
This is my 3rd attempt to get a comment in, it just vanished all at a sudden when I was almost done…
Okay, WOW you pulled off a great Christmas tree decorating and other things for your den. Love the sentimental and beautiful ornament from your Mama from Princess Diana and also your brother’s card being made into a keepsake ornament. It shows that you really do care and appreciate sentimental things!
The girls will gather that also from your way of doing things and it will be carried on as a wonderful and warm tradition for years to come.
Now hopefully you can relax some and may the baking also go well.
We both biked this afternoon at around 70 degrees weather with blue skies. First I’d mopped the kitchen floor, hallway and office floor. Feels good. Now off to enjoy our tea with mixed unsalted nuts and unsalted rice cake.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Hello,
I do not understand what is going on with this blog. It was loading faster again. Now not so much anymore. I do not like the new blogger at all. I have on comment moderation to be sent to my email. It is not and I don't understand why. Never a problem before. Getting irritating.
The girls do seem to like and maybe too much saving or keeping things. They love drawing and writing more and I am glad to see that.
The baking is going o.k. not into it as much this year I must say. My husband bikes with the grand girls and I want a bike as I love bike riding. I got on his, rode a little way and got terribly dizzy and fell down off it. Bump my head on drive way and I tried so hard to protect my knees that I skinned the side of my leg and the rest is a mess. I am much better and thank fully didn't break or ache the next day. Dramamine helps. Must be inner ear. So nice that you and your husband get out together and bike in the nice outdoors. I do love those unsalted cashews and walnuts. I like those rice cakes also. I am eating less and less salt and prefer nuts with out it.
      Happy Sunday to you
      Betsy

    2. Dearest Betsy,
Indeed, for some very mysterious reasons, it takes forever to load the page, also for writing a comment or for a comment reply...
Your dizziness is something to worry about! That no doubt is not 'only' when trying to bike...
Salt and sugar are our worst enemies, when it comes to health...
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  5. Betsy, your tree is just beautiful. The blue looks so pretty on the white tree. If I can wear out the tree we have now, I would love to get a snowy one. It all looks so pretty and your home is just elegant, like a southern mansion..I bet the girls are having fun..Stay well..xxoJudy

  6. It's getting frustrating. Going to do more research on this and see if I can find out the problem. Some one with experience I guess I will have to pay to do it.
I don't get dizzy a lot. But I have had inner ear problems before off and on. My brother also. So thankful it doesn't happen often.
