Few Christmas pictures

Few pictures of Christmas around here and a few of a most beautifully decorated home of a friend of mine who I most enjoyed a Christmas gathering of old friends.  Good to see many again and it's been so many years.  Nothing getting in the way of the joy the season brings.  Won't allow and haven't.

A distant view of grands play house they decorated.  Need pics of inside.  Olaf at the entrance

O.K.  now on to my friends home.  Gorgeous decorated mantle.  Dripping with lights around the Nativity.

Little sampling of goodies.

Every thing so neatly arranged and appetizing that is for sure.

Gorgeous Tree.  Looks like a soft feather tree but it is loaded with such pretty ribbon that it makes it look so soft like feathers.

Another beautifully decorated mantle.

Beautiful stockings lined up for guests and the twinkling of battery lights at the top of each one.  Never seen that done.   Lovingly decorated home and these stockings had much thought and love put into them too.   She really made things so nice for all of us.

Took in a few vintage shops yesterday and had a great time with my sister who came to visit and grand girls.

Will have to post more of my trees later. Happy pre Christmas Eve
Lynn had to leave at 5 o'clock this morning.  Wished she could have stayed but Maine was calling.

This is my living room tree and Lynn

Downstairs

Hope she got to nap on the plane.   Very tired

Den

Hi and cold morning this is.   Finishing up some things and then will bake some cookies today after shopping.

Here are a few finished pictures of my decorations.

Den and mostly blue

My mama gave me this ornament some years ago of Princess Diana

A Christmas card my brother and his wife sent me about ten years ago.  I have the sentiment and their signature on back of hanging.  It's glued on a block of Styrofoam and then some added sparkle
Den mantle and did totally different this year with deer and an owl the children like.

Made this ornament from two paper plates and then decoupaged picture with added beads, sparkle, etc..

Now to finish up a few other things and take pictures.

Happy December

Happy Birthday to our Adalyn. She is 9 today.  Wow!

Picture of the girls in their playhouse coloring shadow box pictures

They love being out here with the silver tree and we have the little Coleman heater going that is used for campers.  The lights are on a heavy duty extension cord.

Tree the grand girls decorated on porch.  Lot of red lights.  It's all I could find and wasn't going to purchase any extra this year.

An ornament I made from two paper plates, beads etc..

here is a close up of living room tree.  I will post the whole tree when I vacuum around it.

an ornament my son in law gave to us a few years back

This dogwood today still has it's leaves.  Even with the snow we had yesterday, it still looks pretty

Off to vacuum and post of my trees tonight on blog

Rainy Saturday evening

More of my decorations.   Will be taking down on Monday.  I always wait till after the 12th day of Christmas.  The candle on the wreath is lit, just not showing well with the light.

Omni Hotel Richmond Va.

On December 30th, we finally got downtown to the James Center in Richmond.   Girls always love to see the lights of downtown.
Not as many this year as there is renovation going on inside and outside.  Hope that tenants move in the empty spaces next year and have the he grand illumination.  The inside of the Omni was not as decorated either.

Nice evening and still somewhat warm for this time of year.

This briefcase and hat reminds me of my Grandfather's. He used to have one just like it and he always wore a hat.  A dapper gentleman he was and I still  remember  him always in that way.
I think the girls thought at first the device was a cell phone, not this time period, it is a calculator.

Always enjoy seeing how the fireplace in the Omni will be decorated.  Nice marble with carved musical instruments.

Adalyn on the right says she wants to learn to play the violin.  Genevieve wants the harp.
Tree in the lobby of the Omni

This beautiful Chandelier is hanging from the ceiling near the tree.

Ginger bread house has seen it's better days.

No matter if there are decorations or not.  The children along with Opa have to take the  glass elevator to the Mezzanine and walk around.   I understand the elevators will be updated also.  I hope they keep the glass in them.

A clip of the evening
